Full job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a 14-bedded specialist Eating Disorders inpatient ward at Springview Mental Health Unit, Clatterbridge Hospital .

You will work as part of a well-established multidisciplinary team (MDT) delivering recovery-focused care to adults with eating disorders in a structured inpatient environment.

This Band 6 role offers the opportunity to take a key clinical and leadership position within the occupational therapy team. You will work autonomously while supporting junior staff, including a Band 5 Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Technical Instructors.

You will be professionally accountable to the Lead Occupational Therapist and contribute to the ongoing development of occupational therapy provision within the ward.

The role is ideal for an experienced Band 5 ready to progress, or an existing Band 6 seeking to develop specialist skills in eating disorders and inpatient mental health care.

Deliver specialist, holistic occupational therapy assessments and interventions for adults with eating disorders

Lead on care planning, risk management, and discharge planning within the OT team alongside the MDT.

Manage a complex and varied inpatient caseload, demonstrating sound clinical reasoning

Facilitate recovery-focused therapeutic groups and individual interventions

Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership to a Band 5 Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Technical Instructors

Support the Lead Occupational Therapist with service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives

Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of high-quality occupational therapy within the ward

Work collaboratively within the MDT to ensure coordinated, person-centred care

You will play a key role in enhancing service user outcomes through meaningful, occupation-focused interventions, while supporting team development and maintaining high professional standards.
