Full job description

4M Portable Buildings hires and sells a wide range of portable buildings, welfare units, offices, canteens, stores and gatehouses; and runs a successful self-storage division for both domestic and business use. Based in Prees Green, Shropshire, the company celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023.

4M is part of the Grocott Group, owned by David and Linda Grocott, the former owners of storage and distribution business Grocontinental of Whitchurch. As an employer of 60 colleagues, the Group has become synonymous with providing stable and secure employment and has built a strong reputation for developing and promoting talent within their portfolio of businesses.

We are now recruiting a Driver & Multi-Skilled Operative to be part of our General Operative Team.

Working hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (with required flexibility to support business needs).

What will the role involve?

Safely drive company vehicles and tow welfare trailers, equipment to various locations, as required.
Carry out daily vehicles checks to ensure the vehicle is fit-for-purpose, logging any damages and defect for repair and reporting to the Operations Manager.
Deliver and collect towable welfare units in line with agreed delivery dates, times and expectations
Operate FLT machinery and equipment in line with training and H&S.
Responsible for intake of deliveries and associated processes.
Carry out domestic and industrial cleaning duties in relation to welfare and 4M fleet units, ensuring buildings, vehicles are maintained to a high standard and remain fit-for-purpose
Ensure the site and facilities are always kept to a high standard, ensuring a safe working environment & full adherence to H&S requirements.
Assist with office administration, ensuring systems are updated accordingly.

What are we looking?

Full UK Driving License – Essential
Experience towing trailers & equipment – Preferred.
FLT License - Essential
Efficient and well organised
The ability to work well under pressure and in line with deadlines
Proactive and flexible approach towards task – adaptable when required
The ability to work of own initiative as well as work independently
Flexible and willing to work outdoors in varying conditions.
Willingness to undertake varied operational task as required.
Good communication skills
Effective problem-solving skills, self- motivated and solution focused
Ability to identify and drive forward areas of continuous improvement
Team player, both within own team and across the wider businesses.

Pay and benefits are very competitive and will be discussed at the point of interview.
