Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Maintenance/Handyman to support the upkeep and repair of our facilities. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring the safety and functionality of our premises. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical skills, including electrical, mechanical, and welding expertise, and demonstrate strong leadership and customer service abilities. This position offers valuable hands-on experience within a supportive environment committed to community service.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs across the organisation’s facilities, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
Supervise maintenance activities, ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times.
Assist with organising maintenance schedules and prioritising urgent repairs.
Provide excellent customer service to staff and visitors by addressing maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
help with decorative projects and repairs

Requirements

Proven experience with general maintenance tasks.
Strong ethic for working for the community
Excellent communication skills
Previous maintenance experience is highly desirable.
A proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a volunteer capacity.
Commitment to safety procedures and maintaining high standards of work quality.

This role is vital in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities while providing meaningful community engagement opportunities for volunteers with diverse technical backgrounds.
