We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice HR Assistant within the Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health (NDWRH) and the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU).
This is a varied and rewarding role that will give you the opportunity to gain practical experience across a wide range of Human Resources and administrative activities. Working alongside experienced HR professionals, you will support the day-to-day operation of the HR function, helping to deliver an excellent service to staff, managers, job applicants and visitors.
You will develop skills in recruitment administration, onboarding new starters, maintaining HR records, coordinating interviews and inductions, supporting departmental events, and responding to enquiries. You will also gain experience of working with confidential information, HR systems, and University processes while developing valuable professional and customer service skills.
As your confidence and knowledge grow, you will take increasing responsibility for a range of HR and administrative activities and contribute to projects across the department.
You will be required to complete a Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship, alongside the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice. Attendance at training sessions and successful completion of your studies are essential requirements of this apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship combines practical workplace learning with structured training delivered by the apprenticeship provider. This includes:
- Work-based learning with your employer
- Day release during term time (approximately one day per week for one year)
- Regular meetings with your training coordinator
- Completion of at least 326 hours of off-the-job training
For this apprenticeship, you will work primarily on-site between the Women's Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital and New Radcliffe House, with one day per week working remotely.
In total, the apprenticeship will last 2 years, with support from the Department, University, and training provider throughout.
