GetFix is a growing mechanical and electrical maintenance business supporting clients across the UK with reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and compliance services. We work across a range of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and critical infrastructure, helping our customers keep their properties safe, compliant, and running efficiently.

Role Overview

The Control Panel Assembler / Wire Person is responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing and inspection of electrical control panels in accordance with approved engineering drawings, company procedures and applicable industry standards.

The role requires a high standard of attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality control panels that meet customer specifications and company standards. Whilst the position is primarily workshop-based, there may be rare occasions where travel to customer sites is required to support panel modifications, upgrades, fault finding or other project-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble electrical control panels in accordance with engineering drawings.
Mount electrical equipment including PLCs, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, terminals, power supplies and associated control devices.
Wire control panels in accordance with approved electrical schematics.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams.
Carry out point-to-point (PTP) continuity testing and other dead testing procedures on completed panels.
Produce work that meets the company's quality standards and customer expectations.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

Experience in electrical control panel assembly and wiring.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Good understanding of industrial electrical components.
Competent in the use of electrical hand tools and testing equipment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installation.
Experience working within industrial automation.
Electrical testing experience.
Knowledge of current electrical standards and industry best practices.
