Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the kitchen operations, preparing ingredients, and assisting senior chefs in delivering high-quality dishes. A background in food production, culinary experience, and a strong understanding of food safety standards are essential. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable. This paid position provides valuable hands-on experience and the chance to grow within a reputable establishment.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Support the food production process to ensure timely delivery of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety standards
Help with ingredient preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning
Contribute to ensuring all dishes meet quality standards before serving
Support team management by collaborating effectively with colleagues
Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety throughout all kitchen activities
Serve as a reliable team member during busy service periods, providing assistance where needed

Experience

Prior experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
Experience in food preparation, cooking, and general kitchen operations
Supervising experience or leadership skills are considered a plus but are not essential
Familiarity with restaurant procedures, food production processes, and serving protocols
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a team and manage multiple tasks under pressure

Pay: £12.80-£13.00 per hour
