About Us

Llanilar Health Centre is the only GP dispensing practice in Ceredigion, proudly serving our rural community with high-quality, patient-centred healthcare. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team as a Trainee Dispenser, with full support to complete the NVQ Level 2 Dispensing qualification.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and is keen to develop a career within primary care and pharmacy services.

The Role

As a Trainee Dispenser, you will play an important role in ensuring the safe and accurate preparation of medications for our patients. Working closely with the clinical and administrative teams, you will support the efficient day-to-day running of the dispensary while completing training towards a recognised dispensing qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake training towards the NVQ Level 2 Dispensing qualification.
Assist in the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications under supervision and in line with prescriptions and practice procedures.
Learn to provide patients with advice and guidance on the safe use of medications.
Maintain accurate records and assist with stock control and ordering.
Support the dispensary team in ensuring compliance with legal, NHS, and professional standards.
Assist with repeat prescriptions and respond to patient queries in a professional manner.
Greet patients and visitors politely and provide excellent customer service.
Answer telephone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate member of the team.
Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to support high-quality patient care.

Person SpecificationEssential:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach.
Good IT and administrative skills.

Desirable:

Previous dispensing experience within a GP practice or pharmacy.
Reception or customer service experience.
