Production Coordinator/Junior Production Coordinator role description

Ateliers London is a leading British designer and manufacturer, specialising in luxury upholstery and bespoke furniture for some of the world’s leading interior design professionals, spanning high end residential, hospitality, superyacht and International luxury sectors.

Based in West London, our manufacturing facilities are home to an experienced team of skilled craftspeople and technical designers, combining traditional craftsmanship and an enviable knowledge of furniture. With over two decades of successfully producing high quality one-off items to large scale FF&E overseas projects, our team combines passion, transparency and a collaborative approach to deliver the finest in custom made furniture.

The Role

Due to the growth of the business, we are seeking a Production coordinator/Junior Production Coordinator to join our fast paced and friendly team.

The role is quite niche and we understand that it requires a very niche specific set of previous experience, however, if you align the Personal Characteristics we would like to hear from you.

Your role will involve close collaboration with both the Production Team and Workshop Team Leaders. Your primary focus will be following the execution of our client’s bespoke furniture from start to finish in our onsite workshop, from carpentry to the lacquer booth, to bodywork, fabric department and finally upholstery. You will work with the Procurement and Production Controller, assisting the implementation of the Production Schedule. Ensuring timely arrival of procurement materials such as bespoke metalwork within the workshop production cycle. Additionally, you'll concentrate on the prompt fulfilment of client bespoke sample requests.

Working on an exciting mix of bespoke furniture projects, you will be involved in a variety of duties. With a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills and a background in high-end furniture construction and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Liaise with the onsite workshop staff, following our client's bespoke furniture and joinery orders in each production department, from Carpentry, Bodywork , Sewing, Cutting, Polishing, Assembly and Upholstery.
You will work with the Spray shop to ensure prompt fulfilment of client bespoke sample requests, from veneer, mirror, marble, wood stains to very high end samples such as hammered metal and capiz pearl.
You will liaise with the CAD team to produce technical production drawings and 1:1 templates for the carpentry department.
Liaise with our supply chain to produce one off bespoke furniture items manufactured with brass, marble and other luxury finishes.
Participate in quality control of finished products.
Executing and improving CSI indicents.
You will work with the department team leaders to lead the workshop, efficiently monitoring the workshop's output and monthly target.
Assisting in production plan control to handover packs to the Workshop departments.
Assisting in selecting, sourcing and coordinating products and components, ensuring the items arrive at the right time in the work order production process.
Analysing sales orders to determine the most appropriate manufacturers to use.
Assisting the workshop production control, ensuring orders meet Production ready dates.
Analyse project costs for best effective procurement in terms of margins, quality and lead time.
Assisting in the logistics of imports and exports, domestic and international.
Operating and updating the ERP system and the Ateliers London Production iPad App.
Liaise with key suppliers ensuring the sample libraries are regularly stocked.
Assisting sales with challenges and providing technical advice where necessary.
Being proactive in the planning of work to ensure all avoidable problems are avoided.
Workflow analysis and improvement.
Hands-on approach to all aspects of the role.
Implementation of good housekeeping.

About you

Personal Characteristics

Attention to detail and an eye for quality control.
Tech Savvy and able to use Os, Adapt to the Production iPad APP.
Confident Leadership skills: Able to motivate and unify a team. Able to assemble the right people ‘in the room’ to collaboratively solve challenges.
Graduate of Interior design or Furniture Design
Bilingual is desirable but not essential
Passionate about luxury upholstery & cabinetry
Interest in gaining knowledge and experience in luxury Furniture Manufacturing.
Looking for long term employment and career progression.
Flexible thought process and adaptable to high pressure situations.

Skills & Experience

2+ years of furniture manufacturing/production control & planning. Within departments such as; Carpentry, Bodywork , Sewing, Cutting, Polishing, Assembly and Upholstery.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge and experience of bespoke upholstery and luxury furniture production and the supply chain.
An understanding of furniture manufacturing work orders, factory operations and CAD.
Excellent communicator, with a high level of numeracy and literacy in English.
Excellent time keeping and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
Demonstrate a desire for self-improvement and enthusiasm to learn new skills.
Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings.
Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
