Looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference?
At Powers Geospatial Consultants, we're looking for someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity, keeping people and processes on track, and taking ownership of the systems that help a successful business run smoothly.
This isn't a corporate HR role hidden behind layers of management.
You'll work directly with the Directors, have real influence over how things are done, and play a key role in supporting our people, maintaining our ISO management systems, and helping the business continue to grow.
We're an established geospatial surveying company with a reputation for quality, professionalism and long-term client relationships. Now we're looking for the right person to become a central part of our leadership support team for years to come.
Why join Powers?
We're not offering endless corporate meetings, bureaucracy or office politics.
We are offering:
- A permanent, full-time role with long-term stability
- Direct access to decision-makers
- Real ownership of your area of responsibility
- A varied role where no two days are the same
- Professional training and development
- A supportive team who genuinely value what you do
- Flexible support for important family commitments
- Quarterly bonus opportunities
- Professional membership paid where relevant
Most importantly, you'll be joining a business where your contribution is visible every day.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for keeping the office organised, the people processes under control, and the ISO compliance schedule moving. The role is broad, practical and deadline-driven.
Office management and business support
Keep the Frodsham office running smoothly day to day, including practical office coordination, supplies, visitors, internal communication and general business support.
Maintain organised office systems, records and controlled information so staff know where to find what they need.
Plan and coordinate monthly staff meetings, including agendas, minutes, action tracking and practical training sessions delivered through those meetings.
Follow up agreed actions, chase information, and escalate overdue items where needed.
HR, recruitment and people administration
Coordinate recruitment from vacancy approval through to appointment, including advert support, candidate administration, interview coordination and recruitment records.
Manage onboarding, induction and off-boarding administration so employee records, checklists and communications are completed accurately.
Maintain personnel files, absence records, employee correspondence and confidential HR information.
Support performance review administration, employee communications, payroll information, benefits and incentive scheme administration.
Keep HR policies and routine people processes current, practical and consistently followed.
Training, competence and development
Maintain the company training matrix, competence evidence, apprentice training records and renewal schedule.
Coordinate employee training bookings, reminders, certificates and follow-up actions.
Help Directors and managers identify gaps, renewals and future training needs, then track actions through to completion.
ISO compliance and controlled documents
Plan and run the annual compliance calendar across ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001 activities.
Coordinate internal audits, audit evidence, certification renewals, compliance registers and action tracking.
Support PUMA PAS 128, CHAS Elite and other relevant pre-qualification or certification work.
Coordinate annual reviews of policies, procedures, risk assessments, contracts, agreements and other controlled documents.
Make sure updates, audit actions, reviews and evidence are completed on time and stored correctly.
Rather than managing large teams, you'll be managing systems, processes and standards that help everyone perform at their best.
This role is likely to suit you if...
- You enjoy being the person who keeps people, deadlines and systems organised.
- You can manage several workstreams at once without losing the detail.
- You are confident chasing actions, asking for evidence and holding people to agreed standards.
- You like a role that changes through the year, from recruitment-heavy periods to audit and compliance-focused periods.
- You are discreet, practical and comfortable handling confidential employee, business and compliance information.
- You want to be part of a growing SME where your work is visible and important.
This role probably isn't for you if...
- You're looking for a remote or hybrid role.
- You want a task-list admin role without ownership or follow-through.
- You prefer HR-only roles with no office management or ISO compliance responsibility.
- You dislike routine records, audits, document control or chasing deadlines.
- You need a large corporate structure with a narrow job remit.
What we're looking for
We're more interested in finding the right person than ticking every box. You should have strong experience in office management, HR administration, ISO compliance coordination, business operations or a similar SME support role.
You'll need to be organised, accurate, discreet and confident enough to keep colleagues and managers aligned with deadlines, records and agreed standards.
Experience with ISO management systems, internal audits, controlled documents, training records, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Copilot or HR processes would be beneficial. CIPD qualifications or ISO Internal Auditor training are advantageous but not essential for the right person.
What we're offering
- At salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
- Quarterly bonus if performance targets achieved.
- Professional membership paid.
- Support with further training and development.
- 21 days holiday plus your birthday off.
- Christmas vouchers.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Casual dress
- Company pension
- Free flu jabs
- Free On-site parking
