Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our financial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the organisation’s financial health. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in various accounting software and financial management practices within a dynamic environment. Candidates with a strong background in financial services and proficiency in multiple accounting platforms will thrive in this position.

Duties

Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with organisational policies and regulations.
Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other specialised programmes to maintain accurate financial records.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support organisational growth.
Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members or interns as required.
Reconcile accounts, review transactions for discrepancies, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations across the organisation.

Requirements

Proven experience in financial accounting within a similar role or industry.
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms.
Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
Experience with accounts payable processes and general ledger management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Demonstrated ability to mentor or train junior staff or interns is desirable.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work performed.
Relevant qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent are preferred but not essential. This position offers an engaging environment for professionals committed to maintaining high standards of financial integrity while contributing to organisational success through expert accounting practices.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
