Role Purpose

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nursery Grower to support the cultivation and maintenance of live plants across our three nursery sites in Dundonald.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of crops supplying major retailers throughout Northern Ireland. We welcome applications from individuals with horticultural experience as well as those looking to further develop their growing expertise. The scope of responsibilities will reflect the successful candidate's skills, knowledge and experience.

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in plant production, strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of plant quality. An interest in modern growing techniques, sustainability and environmentally responsible horticultural practices would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Support the cultivation, care and maintenance of crops across all nursery sites.
Undertake watering, feeding, pruning, pest and disease monitoring, spraying and general plant activities as required.
Maintain high standards of plant quality, presentation and health.
Keep nursery areas clean, safe and well organised.
Monitor crops and promptly report any quality, maintenance or health and safety concerns.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure operational targets are achieved.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and growing best practice.
Uphold and demonstrate Dundonald Nurseries' core values in all aspects of work.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Positive, proactive and reliable approach to work.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends during peak seasonal periods, dependent on weather conditions.

Desirable

Previous horticultural, nursery, greenhouse, agricultural or growing experience.
PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.
Knowledge of plant nutrition, irrigation, pest and disease management or crop production.
An interest in sustainable and environmentally responsible growing practices.

Working Hours & Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
20-minute paid morning break
10-minute paid afternoon break
30-minute unpaid lunch break

During peak periods, flexibility may be required for early morning, evening or weekend watering and spraying activities.
