Role – Head of Service (Commissioning)
Location – GCHSCP, Commissioning Services, Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow, G1 1LH
Contract Status – Permanent

Are you interested in working for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community? Then, you are in the right place!

The post is responsible for the strategic planning, delivery and management of the commissioning function within Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership. The core responsibility is to ensure that commissioning activity complies with the procurement and legislative framework which governs it and operates within the financial framework of the Partnership.

The post holder will ensure that commissioning activity is in line with the Strategic Plan and that the function supports service delivery and transformation. This will require the post holder to ensure that relevant managers within the Partnership are actively involved in developing a clearly understood commissioning cycle linking directly to the Strategic Plan and care group planning structures.

Reporting to and directed by the Assistant Chief Officer (Finance), the post holder is responsible for managing the commissioning function within the Glasgow City HSCP, they will be a member of the Senior Management Team and report to it and to the Glasgow City IJB.

The post holder will have responsibility for leading on, managing and supporting the development, monitoring and reviewing the commissioning plan which will support the IJB Strategic Plan.

Applicants must either possess a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification/experience. Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
