Reporting to the Content & Brand Strategy Manager, the Social Media Specialist is responsible for owning and shaping the global social media strategy across Videojet's key channels, ensuring it supports business priorities, strengthens brand visibility, and drives measurable impact. This role combines strategic ownership with hands on execution. You will define the global approach to social media, build engaging content aligned to brand, product, campaign, and strategic initiatives, and support regional and local teams to activate effectively in market. You will bring fresh thinking, strong digital instincts, and a clear understanding of how social media contributes to engagement, website traffic, brand awareness, and broader marketing performance. You are quick to respond, agile in execution, confident working across multiple stakeholders globally, and motivated to continuously improve content, channel approach, and results. The role is based in Nottingham (UK), with hybrid working (3 days per week in the office).
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Global Social Media Strategy & Ownership: Own the global social media strategy end to end, setting direction, priorities, standards, and ways of working across key channels. Ensure social media activity supports wider business, marketing, campaign, and brand objectives globally.
Regional & Local Enablement: Support regional and local teams with social media execution by providing strategic guidance, content direction, best practices, and scalable approaches that improve consistency while allowing for market relevance.
Content Strategy, Ideation & Creation: Lead the development of engaging social content aligned to company brand, product, campaign, and strategic priorities. Drive creative ideation and turn ideas into content quickly and effectively, working with internal teams to bring campaigns and stories to life across channels.
Creative Development & Asset Production: Create and coordinate a wide range of social content formats including post copy, statics, carousels, simple video content, and campaign assets, working closely with the in house creative team for design support. Videography and editing experience is not essential, but would be a strong advantage.
Channel Management & Optimisation: Lead the content strategy and approach for LinkedIn as the primary global social channel, while adapting content and execution for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WeChat, TikTok, and WhatsApp where relevant. Tailor content by platform to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
Community Engagement & Response Management: Monitor comments, messages, and engagement across channels and respond in a professional, clear, and timely way. Ensure interactions reflect the brand appropriately and help strengthen trust, connection, and audience engagement.
Audience Growth & Community Expansion: Look beyond owned social channels to identify broader community and audience building opportunities, including platforms and spaces such as Reddit, LinkedIn communities, and other relevant digital forums that could help expand reach and engagement.
Trends, Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with social media trends, channel developments, content formats, and emerging best practices. Bring fresh thinking and new ideas into the business, testing new approaches that keep content relevant, engaging, and effective.
AI-Enabled Content Creation: Use AI tools confidently as part of day-to-day work to improve content ideation, creation, optimisation, and workflow efficiency. Understand the value, risks, potential, and limitations of AI and apply it thoughtfully as part of a modern content approach.
Performance, Analytics & Insight: Track, analyse, and report on social media performance including engagement, reach, content effectiveness, and contribution to website sessions and broader marketing goals. Dive into the data to understand what is working, apply insight to optimisation, and use findings to influence future plans.
Collaboration Across the Business: Work closely with global marketing, regional teams, product teams, campaign owners, and other stakeholders to align activity, move quickly, and deliver social media plans that support shared priorities.
The Essential Requirements of the Job Include:
Mid-level role, with 3+ years of experience in social media, digital content, or integrated marketing roles.
Proven experience owning and executing social media strategy for a global brand or business.
Strong understanding of LinkedIn and experience managing content across multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, WeChat, and other relevant channels.
Experience creating content across multiple formats, including copywriting, visual assets, campaign content, and short-form video.
Strong analytical skills with experience measuring social media performance, interpreting data, and applying insights to improve results.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across global and regional teams.
Highly organised, proactive, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Creative mindset with strong digital instincts and the ability to quickly identify opportunities to improve engagement and performance.
It would be a plus if you also have:

Experience using AI tools to support content ideation, creation, optimisation, and workflow efficiency.
Experience with videography or video editing.
Experience supporting regional marketing teams within a global matrix organisation.
