Full job description

Are you passionate about supporting young adults with SEND to build confidence, independence and wellbeing? Due to the growth of our day service offer, Willow Green Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) is seeking multiple Support Assistants to work in our adult day service, The Willows.

Support Assistants are primarily responsible for learner safety, health and wellbeing. Our service provides structured, person-centred support to young adults age 19-25 from within Warrington. Learners have a range of learning disabilities, physical needs and additional health requirements.

The service is designed to promote independence, self-advocacy and meaningful participation in daily life, supporting individuals to develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed for adulthood; independence and potentially employment. You would be part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care, learning and support, ensuring that everyone’s care plan, health needs and personal care needs are met in a safe, inclusive and dignified environment.

You will support the effective running of your service area and assist with the delivery and assessment of programs for learners with additional needs. This will include supporting learners working through an engagement model approach as well as those preparing for, and developing, work readiness skills. Under the direction of the teacher or tutor, you will deliver activities that support a wide range of special educational needs and/or disabilities, including preparing adapted resources and providing targeted one-to-one support.

Your observations, assessment feedback and contribution to session delivery will inform termly and annual progress decisions. You will actively support learner outcomes linked to the Preparation for Adulthood framework, EHCPs and Adult Social Care outcomes. You will also be confident and competent in using assessment recording systems such as Evidence for Learning.
