Full job description

Candidates should be willing to attend an interview. We are looking to schedule interviews in the coming weeks with a view to starting this role right away.

We are seeking a chef de partie or experienced commis chef to join our established team of chefs for the seasonally busy summer period.. Working with fresh ingredients preparing a range of classic and speciality dishes for our busy Lake District hotel and bar. In addition to our main menus our brigade also offers a daily specials menu, so someone with ideas of their own who can have input to menus would be a bonus.

The role is hourly paid up to 40 hours and dependant on skills and experience this this will be reviewed after a 3 month trial period. We can provide accomodation and 2 meals a day regardless if you are on shift or not. This is a great opportunity to work and live in one of the most picturesque areas of the country. You will also have the chance to work with an excellent, established brigade of pro active chefs, in a well equipped kitchen.

Benefits include 28 days paid holiday (pro rata), company pension scheme, staff discount and share of tips.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with meal preparation and kitchen clean-up as needed
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new dishes and menu items
- Maintain a clean and organized work station

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
