Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef / Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in food preparation and cooking to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering high-quality dishes and ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant’s kitchen. Prior restaurant experience and a commitment to food safety are essential for this position.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
Follow recipes and presentation standards to meet the establishment’s specifications.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations.
Support senior chefs with meal preparation, garnishing, and plating.
Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are maintained efficiently.
Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing up and waste disposal.
Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver excellent service during busy periods.
Assist in training junior staff or apprentices as required.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
Knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
A genuine passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn new skills.
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business needs.
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.

Pay: £27,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
