Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Complete and send referrals and updates through the appropriate pathways in a efficient and effective way.

Have a good understanding of referral pathways and be able to provide assistance to other team members.

Half yearly social events and a supportive team environment.

For operational reasons, this role requires availability and flexibility to work a combination of shifts between 07:45-18:30 on Mondays – Fridays.

The post holder will be required to pass a DBS check.

The post holder must have previous secretarial experience, medical secretarial experience is highly desirable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
To work in accordance with written protocols
Updating notes as necessary
Good understanding of all referral pathways
Attention to detail is a must

In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately
In the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, Practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the Practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential
Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the Practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data

Pay starting at £13.75 per hour based on experience, with a 6 month probation period.

16-24 hours required.
