About the Role

Mickey Kellys Bookmakers is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead the daily operations of our betting shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high operational standards, supporting and developing staff, and ensuring the shop operates efficiently while complying with company policies and procedures.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service

Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming environment for all customers.
Lead by example, ensuring customers are greeted professionally and served efficiently.
Build positive relationships with regular customers and encourage repeat business.
Process bets accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of all products, promotions, and services.
Ensure betting slips, pens, coupons, and other customer materials are always available.
Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally and confidentially.

Shop Operations

Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the shop.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the premises, including customer areas, toilet facilities, and refreshment areas.
Monitor the condition and operation of shop equipment, including self-service betting terminals, coffee machines, racing information screens, and display screens.
Report maintenance issues promptly through the appropriate channels.
Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.

Team Leadership

Supervise, motivate, and support shop staff.
Train, coach, and develop team members to deliver excellent customer service and operational standards.
Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.
Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Compliance & Administration

Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
Maintain high standards of cash handling and security.
Complete all daily shop administration accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with company trading procedures and operational guidelines.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a retail, betting, hospitality, or customer service management role.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings where required.

Pay: From £14.25 per hour
