Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to our residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will be responsible for implementing care plans, supervising junior staff, and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff. Your leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in promoting a positive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
Administer Medications and complete competencies.
Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and training as necessary.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the management team.
Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Participate in team meetings to discuss resident progress and any necessary adjustments to care plans.
Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within the care home environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with residents compassionately.
Leadership qualities with experience in supervising or mentoring staff members.
Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation accurately.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when needed.
A caring attitude towards elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times.
