We are looking for an experienced Dental Practice Manager to join and lead the team at an established private and referral dental practice in Birchington, Kent.
This is a senior, hands-on management position with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice, team leadership, compliance and CQC, patient experience and operational performance.
We are looking for someone who understands what it takes to run a busy dental practice well: someone organised, approachable and fair, but also confident making decisions, managing people, setting standards and taking ownership when something needs attention.
THE ROLE
You will work closely with the Principal Dentist and Business Manager and take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the practice.
· Leading and managing the nursing and reception teams.
· Staff rotas, holidays, sickness and day-to-day staffing.
· Recruitment, induction, appraisals and performance management.
· Acting as the practice's operational Compliance Lead.
· Maintaining CQC readiness and overseeing audits, policies, training and compliance systems.
· Oversight of infection control, health & safety, safeguarding and other regulatory requirements.
· Supporting the designated CBCT Clinical Lead and Radiology Lead with the operational and administrative aspects of radiography and CBCT governance, including maintaining appropriate compliance systems, records, training documentation and follow-up of agreed actions.
· Managing complaints and supporting an excellent patient experience.
· Overseeing efficient practice administration, referrals, stock and suppliers.
· Monitoring diary and resource utilisation.
· Monitoring practice performance and using operational and financial information to support effective decision-making, cost control and business improvement.
· Contributing to the continued development and commercial performance of the practice.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager with strong leadership skills, excellent operational management experience and a thorough understanding of compliance within a regulated healthcare environment. Previous dental practice management experience and knowledge of CQC requirements in dentistry would be highly advantageous.
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
· Proven experience managing and developing a dental team.
· Strong knowledge of CQC and dental compliance.
· Experience of staff management, recruitment, absence management and performance.
· Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
· Confidence dealing with clinicians, staff, patients and external providers.
· Strong commercial and financial awareness and an understanding of the key drivers of a successful dental practice.
· An understanding of the relationship between diary utilisation, clinician productivity, staffing, costs and practice performance.
· The ability to use management information and practice data to identify issues and support decision-making.
· The ability to manage competing priorities and follow issues through to resolution.
· A professional, fair and consistent management style.
· Strong IT and administrative skills.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
It would be particularly advantageous if you also have experience of:
· Budgets, profit and loss (P&L), management accounts or other practice financial reporting.
· Using financial and operational data to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Cost control, purchasing and resource management.
· Private dental practice management.
· SOE EXACT.
· Specialist or referral dentistry.
· Dental radiography and/or CBCT compliance.
· Contributing to business planning, growth or the development of new services.
ABOUT THE PRACTICE
We are an established fully private dental practice in Birchington, Kent, providing general dentistry alongside a broad range of specialist and referral services, including endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, implants and oral surgery.
We have an experienced multidisciplinary clinical team and continue to invest in our facilities, technology and services, including the planned introduction of in-house CBCT imaging.
The Practice Manager will work closely with the Principal Dentist and Business Manager, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice and contributing to its continued development.

Working pattern: 5 days per week; 4 days may be considered for the right candidate
