Senior Production Technician (Electrics) - Board Operator, Adelphi Theatre
Run of Production

The role…

We are searching for a bright, forward thinking Senior Production Technician (Electrics) to join our team at The Adelphi Theatre for the run of The Comedy About Spies. Are you dedicated to delivering the highest quality in everything you do?

As Senior Production technician for the Electrics department, you will operate the lighting console. You will help facilitate the smooth and safe running of The Comedy About Spies.

In this exciting role, you will support the Electrics department in the delivery of requirements for rehearsals and performances of The Comedy About Spies as well as the maintenance of the show and the technical theatre infrastructure.

Alongside the rest of the team, you will play an integral role in creating a high performance culture and achieving the overall brand vision: to stage the extraordinary.

What you’ll be doing…

Working closely with the Electrics Department you will:

Deliver the highest technical standards of customer service to the resident production, liaising with their Stage Management team.
Operate the lighting desk and do rig checks for the lighting and video content of the show to ensure the artistic integrity of the show. Checks on all electrical practicals for the show.
Champion and assist with driving a positive approach to Health & Safety at the Theatre, proactively supporting the practical application of LW Theatres Health and Safety Policy by LW staff and by the resident production ensuring performers, technicians and audiences are safe.
Problem solving during live performances.
Undertake training as identified for you by LW Theatres and your Head of Department.
Keep backstage areas and the LX control room tidy and well maintained for the production and ensure that an excellent standard of general housekeeping is sustained at all times as well as assisting with general maintenance issues.
Ad hoc project work as directed by the Head of Department.
Manual handling and Work at Height necessary in this role and training will be provided.
A working pattern including evenings and weekends.
Ensure there is excellent communication and collaboration between the department and all other departments in the Theatre.

What we need…

Good practical knowledge of technical theatre systems, significantly in lighting, video & especially lighting board operation for live theatre.

Experience of working with lighting consoles and theatre lighting systems.
Experience of maintaining a wide variety of lighting and other technical systems.
A working knowledge of the Health & Safety requirements associated with theatre.
A proactive and calm approach to problem solving.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in low light and at height.
Someone who can adapt to changing circumstances and overcome challenges.
Proven ability to balance and prioritise a busy workload.

Rate of Pay: Excellent uplift over SOLT/ BECTU: £18.01/hour for a 40 hour week over 6 days plus bonus.
