Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop within a professional hospitality environment. The Commis Chef will work closely with senior chefs to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, contributing to and delivering outstanding service to our guests.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the senior kitchen team in food production, ensuring timely delivery of orders
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
Contribute to menu development ideas and suggest improvements for efficiency and quality
Ensure all food is prepared in line with health and safety standards, including proper storage and handling
Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support in their tasks
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
Collaborate effectively within a team environment, demonstrating leadership qualities where appropriate

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a professional kitchen or hospitality setting
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience supervising or managing team members is desirable but not essential
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required
A genuine passion for food, hospitality, and delivering exceptional guest experiences
