We are seeking one full-time Family Support Worker to join our dedicated Family Resource Service in South Ayrshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a passionate, collaborative workforce.

Background

Barnardo's is working in partnership with South Ayrshire Health and social care Partnership to provide whole family holistic support to children young people and family members within the North of South Ayrshire which includes Ayr, Troon and Prestwick and surrounding villages.

About the Role

As a Family Support Worker, you will work closely with families, communities, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children. Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and relational approach, you will help ensure families receive the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver targeted interventions, achieving measurable and positive outcomes for families
Provide high-quality direct work to strengthen families and promote resilience
Support families to access appropriate universal and specialist services
Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to family needs
Complete and maintain accurate records, including risk assessments and GDPR documentation
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies
Contribute to effective exit strategies that ensure sustainable change
Capture and use the voices of children and young people to shape service delivery

What We're Looking For

A passion for supporting families and improving outcomes for children
Experience of working within a trauma-informed and strengths-based framework
Strong partnership working and communication skills
Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines
A flexible approach to working patterns
