Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Health and Safety CDM (Construction Design and Management) Consultant to join a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy. In this role, you will work collaboratively with colleagues, including supporting the Principal Designer across a range of construction projects. You will help ensure compliance with CDM regulations while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of projects.

Duties

Assisting in carrying out daily site inspections.
Supporting audits and health and safety inspections.
Compiling reports based on site findings and recommendations.
Assisting in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
Supporting the delivery of CDM duties, including pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
Liaising with clients, contractors and design teams.
Maintaining accurate project documentation and records.

Skills

Understanding of CDM regulations and Principal Designer responsibilities.
Previous experience or placement in a construction or design environment is desirable.
Knowledge of design risk management and construction health and safety practices.
Interest in pursuing further professional development in CDM coordination.

This role provides a comprehensive introduction to health and safety consultancy within the construction industry, offering valuable experience for those aspiring to specialise further in this field. The position is ideal for proactive individuals eager to develop their knowledge while supporting ongoing projects across diverse sites.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Construction, H&S or Design qual e.g. NEBOSH, NVQ, BTEC (required)

Work authorisation:

United Kingdom (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Preston (Lancashire, North West Region)
