The Role
The successful candidate will join the Central Sustainability Office (CSO) to support the development of our approach to nature. This will include supporting the development of a Group-wide nature strategy, supporting the integration of nature into our climate frameworks, and supporting the integration of nature risks into our Risk Management Framework. They will need to work closely and effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across M&G Plc, our life insurance business and our asset management business. They will be part of a Climate & Nature team, with ongoing opportunities to interact with climate workstreams.
Key Responsibilities for this role:

Develop key strategic initiatives to build our Group-wide approach to nature

In collaboration with stakeholders across M&G Plc, our life business and our asset management business, deliver aspects of our nature strategy

Work closely with our Climate & Nature Lead to support the integration of nature-related themes into existing climate frameworks

Work closely with our Sustainability Risk Lead to support the development of our approach to managing nature risk, and integration of nature into our risk management framework, including improving the risk and control environment.

Work closely with 2nd line Sustainability Risk to support their oversight of nature-related risk management

Act as subject matter expert on nature within the CSO, including undertaking horizon scanning and highlighting developments across nature markets, investment practices and nature-related risks

Maintain a clear view of existing and potential regulatory frameworks relevant to nature

Where relevant, support on our engagement with policymakers and regulators on nature-related topics
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
-
Proven experience of working on nature within a financial services firm, corporate or consultancy
-
Strong stakeholder engagement, stakeholder management and broader project delivery experience
-
Proven experience of working within a detailed risk and controls framework, and experience of managing nature-related risks as part of that

Strong understanding of sustainability regulations, with a focus on incoming nature-related frameworks (e.g., TNFD)

Experience of working with scenario analysis or stress testing frameworks, within or outside of sustainability themes

Good technical capabilities, with a focus on data analysis and visualisation, and use of Artificial Intelligence

Self-starter with a proactive and collaborative approach, who is able to effectively engage with key stakeholders across the group

Organised, efficient and thorough with a high attention to detail

Excellent office skills and practical experience of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
