Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to support early childhood development within our Pre-School setting. The successful candidate will work closely with children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes learning and socialisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with young children and committed to their educational growth. The position is paid and suitable for those with relevant childcare experience or early childhood education background.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
Support lead teachers in supervising children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods
Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by adhering to health and safety policies
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and confidence
Maintain a clean and organised classroom environment, including organising learning resources and materials
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour
Support behavioural management strategies in line with nursery policies
Assist with daily administrative tasks as required, including record keeping and attendance monitoring

Requirements

QCF Level 3 qualification as minimum
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is preferred, knowledge of the pre-school expansion programme is required
Strong management and leadership skills to guide children's activities effectively
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment and independently when required
Genuine passion for childcare, early childhood education, and child development principles
Ability to engage children through creative play, storytelling, and educational activities
Organised, outgoing, patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with young children
