Key Responsibilities include:
- Operate a wheeled excavator safely and efficiently in line with site requirements
- Carry out tasks such as excavation, trenching, lifting, grading, and material handling
- Work in confined or high-traffic environments, including highways and urban areas
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance inspections on equipment
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety regulations and method statements
- Communicate effectively with banksmen, site supervisors, and other operators
- Follow instructions from site management while maintaining awareness of changing site conditions
- Report any defects, incidents, or near misses promptly
- Assist with general site duties where required

Personal Specification
Technical Competencies
Essential
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Wheeled Excavator ticket
- Proven experience operating wheeled excavators on construction or infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of health and safety on construction sites
- Ability to work safely in busy or restricted environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience on highways or urban infrastructure projects
- Lifting operations experience (e.g. lifting ops endorsement)
- Additional plant tickets (e.g. dumper, roller)
- Valid CSCS card
