Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Front of House team member to join our friendly team at The Green Dragon, an independently owned premium pub with a strong reputation for outstanding food, drinks and service. This role involves delivering exceptional guest services, ensuring smooth operations at the front of house, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic environment while providing memorable experiences for our guests.

Key roles

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
Handle payments using the POS system and provide correct change or receipts
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables and service stations
Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Provide knowledgeable information about menu options, ingredients, and food safety standards
Address guest queries or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction
Support team members in maintaining a positive working environment

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
Familiarity with serving protocols and guest service excellence is desirable
Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
Experience with upselling menu items to enhance guest experience is a plus
