Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager/Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our hospitality or food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive restaurant or hotel experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service levels to enhance guest satisfaction. The position offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within a dynamic environment.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant or hotel staff, including servers, kitchen personnel, and baristas
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met
Assist in training new team members and providing ongoing coaching to existing staff
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety policies
Manage daily operations, including opening and closing procedures
Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering and management
Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction
Support the management team in implementing promotional activities and special events
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or culinary roles is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Good communication skills to liaise confidently with staff and guests
Familiarity with hospitality software systems is advantageous
Previous experience in serving or barista roles adds value to understanding front-of-house operations
Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service
