About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Room Leader (Early Years Practitioner) who can take ownership of a nursery room and lead a small team of practitioners with confidence and care. You will not just be supervising daily routines—you will be shaping the learning environment, guiding practice, and ensuring high-quality early years experiences for every child in your care.

You are the link between children, staff, and parents, ensuring that learning is structured, engaging, and delivered to EYFS standards while maintaining a warm and supportive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Room Leadership: Take responsibility for the daily running of a designated nursery room, ensuring a safe, engaging, and well-organised environment.

Early Years Delivery: Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities aligned with EYFS outcomes, supporting cognitive, emotional, and social development.

Team Supervision: Lead, support, and mentor Early Years Practitioners and assistants, ensuring consistent practice and high standards of care.

Child Development Tracking: Carry out observations, assessments, and learning journals to monitor progress and identify developmental needs.

Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure all safeguarding procedures, health & safety requirements, and nursery policies are strictly followed.

Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing clear communication on child progress and wellbeing.

Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and learning environment quality within the room.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in an Early Years / Nursery environment, with experience in a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or similar role preferred.

Qualification: Level 3 or above in Early Years Education / Childcare (essential).

Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles.

Leadership Ability: Confident in leading small teams, delegating tasks, and supporting colleagues in daily practice.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills when working with children, staff, and parents.

Professionalism: Reliable, organised, and committed to maintaining high standards of care and safeguarding.

Compliance: Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and willingness to undertake further training where required.

Pay: £34,420.00-£39,399.97 per year
