Full job description

Accounts & Payroll Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the fast-paced office team at M8 Recovery Ltd, one of Scotland's leading vehicle recovery companies. We are seeking an organised and motivated Accounts & Payroll Assistant to support our finance and administration functions.

Previous accounts experience is preferred; however, candidates with a strong administrative background and a willingness to learn will also be considered, as full training can be provided for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Processing invoices and maintaining accurate financial records
Credit control and purchase ledger administration
Assisting with weekly payroll processing
Responding promptly and professionally to emails and enquiries
Liaising with clients, customers, and key account holders
Providing general administrative support to the office team
Adapting to changing business needs and undertaking additional duties as required

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will:

Have previous accounts experience or a relevant qualification (preferred)
Alternatively, possess strong administrative experience with a desire to develop a career in accounts and payroll
Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Be a quick learner and confident using internal software systems and online portals
Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Experience with Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours:

Monday to Friday
9:00am – 4:30pm

Salary: Negotiable and dependent on experience
