Packaging Stock Control Operative (Nightshift)

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Stock Control Operative to join our nightshift team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing packaging materials, maintaining accurate stock levels, and ensuring everything is in place to support the next day’s production.

This is a key position within the operation, helping to ensure efficiency, minimise waste, and prevent production delays.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular stock counts and update inventory systems accurately
Identify, report, and challenge shortages, damages, or discrepancies
Maintain well-organised storage areas for packaging materials
Prepare and stage materials to support the day shift production team
Complete detailed shift handovers at the end of each shift
Ensure all packaging materials are available and ready for use

What Success Looks Like

Accurate and up-to-date stock records
No production downtime due to missing materials
Clean, organised, and efficient storage areas
Minimal stock loss or waste
Timely replenishment of supplies
Full compliance with company policies and Health & Safety standards

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Strong attention to detail
Basic IT skills (e.g. stock systems, scanners)
Good organisation and time management
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

Previous FMCG or packaging experience
Own transport

Salary & Benefits

£13.71 per hour
Overtime: +25%
Unsociable hours (00:00 – 06:00): +15%
28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)

Working Hours

Core hours: Monday to Friday, 22:00 – 06:30
Flexibility is required to meet business needs

Job Type: Full-time
