Cleverchefs is a well-established and growing catering company providing freshly prepared, nutritious meals to schools and Business & Industry sites across Wales and Southern England. We are currently looking for an Assistant Cook to support the Chef Manager in the day-to-day kitchen operation at Kents Hill School. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about food, enjoys working in a school environment, and is looking for a role that offers a strong work-life balance.

About the role

As Assistant Cook, you will be support the Chef Manager with the daily running of the kitchen, preparing and serving freshly cooked meals for children and staff while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety and service. Y

Key responsibilities

● Prepare and serve freshly cooked, nutritious meals to children and staff

● Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and service

● Ensure all food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding standards are met

● Support a positive, safe and well-organised working environment for the team

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and passionate about producing great food.

Essential

● At least 1 year of experience as in a cooking role

● Experience working in a catering environment

● A genuine passion for preparing high-quality meals

● Ability to manage responsibilities independently and consistently

Preferred

● Previous experience in a school, education or high-volume catering setting

● Driving licence preferred, though not essential
