Receptionist - Bath Hostel

Who we are

YMCA Brunel Group is an independent, locally governed and managed charity operating in Mendip, Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire and South Somerset. We are part of the international YMCA movement. Our mission is to create supportive, inclusive and energising communities, where people can truly belong, contribute and thrive.

Our activities include:

Accommodation for over 700 people every year who are at risk of being homeless, who are on low incomes, experience barriers to work, or young people in need of high levels of support, who have often experienced trauma and difficult times in their lives. We don’t just provide a bed, we support people holistically and continually seek to help our residents gain the training, skills and confidence to lead independent lives.

What does the job entail?

Job Purpose:

The Bristol Wing is a commercial hostel based in the centre of Bristol and is part of the YMCA Brunel Group. We are looking for a receptionist to come and join our team where you will be the face of greeting our guests as they come to stay with us. . We aim to surpass customer expectations so this role is key in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

What skills will the successful candidate need?

At least one year’s receptionist/customer service experience, preferably in a hostel or hotel environment.

Location

YMCA Bath

Position 1

26 hours per week (Wed 09:00 -17:00, Thurs 09:00- 07:00, Sat 07:30 - 13:30 and Sun 13:00 - 19:00)

Position 2

18.5 hours per week (Fri 09:00 - 17:00, Sat 13:00 - 19:00 and Sun 07:30 - 13:30)

6-month probationary period

Rate of Pay

£12.87 Per hour

Closing Date - 19th March 2026
