Job Title: Head Chef

Location: The West Port Hotel

About Us:

The West Port Hotel is a stylish yet relaxed bar, restaurant, and boutique hotel in the heart of Linlithgow. It offers a modern take on the traditional pub, with a lively bar, a welcoming dining space serving classic British dishes, and a popular beer garden. The venue also features a small number of comfortable rooms, making it ideal for both casual visits and short stays

Role Overview:

As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for designing and executing a seasonal menu that reflects our commitment to quality and innovation. You will lead a dedicated kitchen team, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen culture while contributing to the overall success of The Law.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, plan, and implement a creative and seasonal menu that highlights local ingredients and culinary trends.

- Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.

- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to best practices and maintain high standards.

- Manage stock, including ordering and sourcing quality ingredients from local suppliers.

- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchen.

- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to create a seamless dining experience for guests.

- Monitor food costs and contribute to budget management to ensure profitability.

- Stay updated on industry trends and continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve the menu.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen role, preferably in a high-quality restaurant or hotel environment.

- Culinary qualification or equivalent professional training.

- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
