Full job description

The post will be based in the Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL) Warehouse based off site not far from the main hospital, The post holder may be required to work across various sites (Royal, Aintree, Broadgreen).

The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipment of goods to numerous hospital site’s and GP surgeries within the area, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety and organization. This role is vital to providing the necessary equipment and facilities to test patients within the community.

The post-holder will be required to perform a range of tasks, some of which require the exercise of initiative, although operating within broad procedural guidelines.

To provide guidance and advice to the Materials Management team on the storage, re-ordering and replenishment of the fast moving core consumables used throughout LCL, in accordance with Trust procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, Unload and inspect incoming deliveries.
Accurately book stock in using the inventory management system.
Stock put away into designated warehouse locations.
Pick and pack stock for numerous locations including external customers.
Prepare picks for dispatch via trust transport.
Operate warehouse equipment i.e scanner, computers and pallet trucks safely.
Conduct daily stock checks.
Report all damaged goods & stock discrepancies to the management team.
Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.

The Royal Liverpool University Hospital is the largest hospital in the country to provide inpatients with 100% single en-suite bedrooms and mainly focuses on complex planned care and specialist services.

The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse. To act as a focal point for customers, Stores Management and Materials Management operatives on issues relating to the materials management service including any departments or services that are opened or moved.
To facilitate the development of the service to meet the changing requirements of the customers within LCL.
To facilitate product changes and introduction of new products when required
To assist in any Project work as directed by Line Manager.
To conduct regular, scheduled departmental stock analysis, reviews and report where required on the general ‘organisation’ of the area and ensure that any action required is reported to the Supply Chain Manager for implementation
To provide regular reports to the Budget Holder on usage etc and highlight any potential savings to be made.
Responsibility for co-ordinating recalls of products from all areas within LCL and advising non-materials management users of recalls / hazards.
To input requisitions and organise downloads as required in covering staff absences.
