Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support our finance team in managing daily financial operations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, assisting with invoicing, and supporting budgeting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within finance and accounting functions in a dynamic organisation.

Duties

Assist with processing invoices, payments, and expense claims efficiently and accurately
Maintain and update financial records and databases to ensure data integrity
Support the preparation of financial reports and statements under supervision
Reconcile accounts and monitor discrepancies to uphold financial accuracy
Assist with budgeting activities and expense tracking
Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments regarding financial transactions
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative processes within the finance department

Experience

Previous experience in an administrative or finance support role is essential
Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial software xero
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
