Full job description

About the role:

Technolog Group has over 40 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of battery-powered data logging, meter reading and pressure control products for the utilities sector. The products and solutions use the latest technologies and innovation to facilitate efficient management of water and gas networks.

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Finance Assistant to join our finance team, based in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. This role is suited to someone who has built solid, hands-on experience across transactional finance and month-end activities, and who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, growing business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full ownership of the purchase ledger, including invoice processing, coding, authorisation, and supplier statement reconciliations.
Own the end-to-end supplier payment run process, ensuring payments are made accurately and on time
Serve as the primary point of contact for Accounts Payable queries from internal stakeholders and external parties.
Take full ownership of the month-end close, independently preparing journal postings, calculating accruals and prepayments, leading to the production of financial and management accounts for a company within the group.
Ensure transactional data is complete, accurate, and ready ahead of close deadlines
Support the finance team with ad hoc analysis and project work, bringing your experience to bear on wider finance initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

3+ years’ experience in a similar role and environment
Good understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures relevant to the role
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge of accounting software such as NAV, BC, Oracle etc.
Great organisational, communication and time management skills
Ability to work to month end reporting deadlines and prioritise accordingly

Location & Hours:

This role will be based at our Head Office in Wirksworth, Derbyshire working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm (1 hour for lunch).
