Who Are We?

The Percy Hedley Foundation is one of the largest regional charities supporting people with a range of learning and physical needs. We take a person centred, flexible approach to the care and support we provide. We have five sites providing specialist education, adult day services, residential care and independent supported living to our service users. Our sites are based in Forest Hall, Killingworth, Jesmond, Newcastle City Centre and North Shields.

The Role

Hedley’s College is looking to recruit a Higher Level Learning Support Assistant, with a main site in Forest Hall and our Hub site in Killingworth. This is a term time only role with an 8.30 - 4pm working day with an additional hour on both a Monday and Wednesday till 5pm to allow for staff development time.

Hedeys College is a busy, vibrant and varied environment that supports young people aged 16-25 with learning disabilities to access personal paths of education that meet people's aspirations, needs and preferences, thus offering a very individual programme with support from a highly skilled and dedicated team.

The role will involve supporting learning and also covering some teaching sessions including covering any Tutor absence, it is important to be a real team player. Be flexible and have an ability to adapt and respond to evolving situations.

[TTO roles only] Salary amounts quoted are from 1 September to 31 August and therefore, if you commence employment part way through the academic year, it will be subject to an equated salary adjustment.
