Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide exceptional care and support to our residents. This is a NIGHT CARE ASSISTANT ROLES, COVERING 3 NIGHTS - 33 HOURS PER WEEK. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering personalised care in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. This role involves working closely with patients to promote their well-being, independence, and comfort, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained at all times. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring specialised support, including individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or those receiving hospice care.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
Administer medication and manage treatment plans in accordance with healthcare protocols.
Support residents with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
Assist with behavioural management strategies for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring environment.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health status to senior staff.
Support with light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Drive residents when required for appointments or outings, adhering to safety regulations.
Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary.
Assist with hospice or end-of-life care, respecting the dignity and wishes of each individual.

Requirements

Prior experience in nursing home care, assisted living, or home care environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Alzheimer’s, dementia, and behavioural management techniques.
Proven ability in medication administration and basic first aid procedures.
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards elderly or vulnerable individuals.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility needs.
Valid driving licence preferred for transportation responsibilities.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if required.
A recognised qualification in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 3) is advantageous but not essential.
