Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers, including Senior Residential Support Workers specialising in children’s services. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children in residential settings, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. The successful candidate will work closely with young people, implementing care plans and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes positive growth and stability. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people, supporting their journey towards independence and resilience.

Responsibilities

Requirements:
Must have valid work authorization (sponsorship is not available).
Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles is required.
Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
Build trusting relationships with young people, offering emotional support and guidance
Assist with daily routines including education, leisure activities, and personal hygiene
Facilitate communication between children, families, and external professionals to support holistic development
Drive children to appointments, activities, or outings as required, maintaining safe driving practices
Monitor and record behavioural progress, incidents, and other relevant information accurately
Promote a positive environment that encourages learning, independence, and social skills development
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing review of care strategies
Maintain a clean and organised living environment for the children in your care

Qualifications

Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
Must have valid work authorisation (sponsorship is not available).
Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles is required.
Valid driving licence with clean driving record preferred
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and colleagues
Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding policies
Ability to work flexibly across shifts including evenings or weekends if required
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and completing reports effectively

Pay: £24,420.00-£34,840.00 per year
