An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Shift Manager on Nights to join XPO.
You will be joining to lead and manage the safe, compliant, and customer-focused transportation of fuel by road. The Shift Manager will oversee the night shift, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and high levels of customer satisfaction across all aspects of the fuel delivery process.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

To ensure effective execution of the daily plan for all deliveries related to the location resource (vehicles, drivers and trailers).

Managing effective communication of issues both within the location and also, as necessary, to other sector locations and customers.

An understanding of the weekly financial and KPI reports to support the Operations Manager with effectively managing weekly costings and performance.

Working closely with the Transport Operators, to manage the cost base by providing support/guidance for the Control Tower Team.

Ensure full compliance with company policy and procedures at all times.

Working closely with the stakeholders to ensure the team monitors compliance to all legal requirements e.g. driver’s hours, working time, adherence to service and MOT regimes for all vehicles and trailers.

Discuss any improvement opportunities with the Control Tower Team and ensure corrective actions are introduced and maintained.

Support non-conformance reporting such that all necessary information is captured and inputted, to deadlines, and for any other sector reporting.

Provide guidance for all members of the transport team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication between them to address operational issues effectively and in a timely manner.

Support and encourage a good team working spirit and ensure that the transport colleagues work effectively with sister sites across the contract

Follow all HR requirements in relation to disciplinary, absence management and return to work situations. Ensure all company policies and procedures are observed.

Communicate as necessary with the Operations Manager/Customer, on all matters that may affect service levels or impact on other operations.

To undertake any other reasonable task as required.
