Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests. Being able to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles is highly desirable but not a requirement to apply. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical expertise within a professional environment, ensuring vehicles meet safety standards and operate efficiently. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal and safety standards, accurately assessing vehicle condition
Perform mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance on a wide range of vehicles (desirable not compulsory)
Identify faults and advise customers on necessary repairs or replacements
Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and services performed
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
Keep the work area clean, organised, and fully equipped with necessary tools and supplies

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose vehicle issues efficiently (desirable)
MOT license class 4/class7
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and diagnostic procedures
Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
