Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service within a dynamic café setting, ensuring a positive experience for all patrons.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, adhering to quality standards.
Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner.
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other light snacks.
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times.
Manage cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change.
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth service during shifts.
Support team members during busy periods to deliver efficient service.

Qualifications

Previous experience or background in serving food and beverages is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety standards is essential.
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for cash handling purposes.
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities.
Experience in food preparation is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Friendly attitude with strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
