The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated housing professional to lead our Housing Services function.
This is a key leadership role within the organisation, responsible for delivering a high-quality, customer-focused housing management service. You will oversee a broad range of services including income management, lettings, voids, estates, customer engagement and ASB, ensuring excellent outcomes for residents and strong organisational performance.
You will play an integral role as part of the Management Team, helping to shape strategy, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing housing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement
- Ensure delivery of high-quality housing services across all general needs stock
- Take responsibility for performance management, service standards, and budget control
- Embed a strong customer-first culture across all service areas
Housing Management
- Oversee tenancy management, income recovery, ASB and resident engagement
- Ensure complex tenancy issues and disputes are managed effectively
- Develop and implement tenancy sustainment strategies and support pathways
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Lettings, Voids & Income
- Lead on lettings and voids to minimise turnaround times and maximise income
- Oversee nominations agreements and relationships with local authority partners
- Ensure regulatory returns (e.g. CORE) are accurate and timely
- Manage shared ownership re-sales and related processes
Strategy, Policy & Compliance
- Develop and review housing policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practice
- Support delivery of the Resident Experience Strategy
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing consumer standards
- Use performance data, benchmarking and resident feedback to drive improvement
Partnerships & Community
- Build effective partnerships with local authorities and external agencies
- Promote community cohesion in line with LJHA’s values and Jewish ethos
- Support delivery of community engagement initiatives and resident communications
Finance, Performance & Risk
- Manage and monitor the Housing Services budget
- Ensure strong financial and performance reporting, including KPIs for Board reporting
- Promote value for money across all service areas
- Identify, manage and mitigate risks effectively
Health & Safety
- Ensure robust health and safety practices across housing operations
- Support staff training, compliance and safe working practices
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced housing professional who can lead from the front and deliver measurable results.
You will have:
- Significant experience in housing management within the social housing sector (5+ years desirable)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- A track record of delivering high-quality, customer-focused services
- Experience of working in a regulated environment with an understanding of consumer standards
- Excellent knowledge of tenancy management, ASB, lettings and income recovery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive performance
- A collaborative, proactive and solution-focused approach

A Level 4 Housing qualification (or willingness to work towards this) is required.
