We support young individuals aged 16 to 24 through their transitional journey into early adulthood, with a focus on avoiding hospital admissions for those with complex mental health conditions. Our unique, person-centred approach sets us apart. We empower our young residents to take the lead in their care, helping them unlock their hidden talents and aspirations.

Role Title: HR Officer

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per year

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (9am-5pm or 9.30am-5.30pm)

The HR Officer plays a critical role in the human resources functions within the organisation. This includes managing the recruitment and onboarding process, employee relations, performance management, compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage absence and sickness.
Ensure the HR department is providing an excellent service.
Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Promote equality and diversity as integral parts of the company culture.
Managing the recruitment and selection process including recruitment planning, employee relations, attending interviews, making offers, drafting of contracts and managing on boarding process and carrying out schedule 2 checks in line with safer recruitment.
Investigate and conduct disciplinary hearings.
Maintain personnel files and employee records.
Handle grievances and implement disciplinary procedures.
Reporting to HR Manager.

Skills Required:

CIPD or working towards it.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns.
Understand the importance of planning, monitoring, reviewing, recording keeping within all areas of HR related matters.
Considerable experience of Human Resources administration.
Experience of prioritising workload, time management and dealing with conflicting priorities.
Ability to provide advice on employment terms, conditions, policies and procedures
Skilled in negotiation and conflict management.
Ability to form effective relationships with people at all levels and to communicate well over the telephone, face to face and in writing.
Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information.
Ability to undertake routine calculations.
Highly organised.
Trustworthy.
Capable of multitasking effectively.
Flexible and adaptable.

Training and additional duties:

To undertake appropriate training and to carry out additional functions consistent with the scope and purpose of the post as directed.

Disclosure level: Enhanced DBS
