Job Introduction

Payments Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payments Team Leader to join our Accounts Payable Team. In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for administering and processing invoices and allowances across Solihull Council’s expenditure and identify efficient and innovative working practices.

About the role

You will join us in a fast-paced finance environment at an exciting time, as we continue to develop our use of the Oracle Cloud finance system and introduce new, innovative ways of working.

What you’ll need:

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A–C / 9–4, including Maths and English
Proven financial experience
Part or full AAT qualification (or an equivalent finance qualification)
Experience of managing, supervising or mentoring a team
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Confident IT skills, including experience using spreadsheets
Strong communication and organisational skills

Your working time will be split between home and office and there may be occasions (particularly during onboarding) when you will be required to be based at our conveniently located Council House in Solihull Town Centre.
