Nursery Manager

We are looking for a bright, bubbly, and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to join our friendly team at The Wendy House Day Nursery.

With two settings across Birmingham— one in Wythall and one in Lickey—this role will be based at our Lickey setting on Lynwood Way, B45 8EZ.

At The Wendy House Day Nursery, our priority is to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. We believe in creating a little bit of magic every day, helping children to learn, grow, and flourish through exceptional care and inspiring experiences.

About Us

The Wendy House Day Nursery are a ‘GOOD’ Ofsted rate setting. We have two nursery settings throughout Birmingham, one located in Wythall and one in Lickey. We are currently building a strong reputation with families and within the nursery industry, for delivering high quality early years education. We’ve even won a prestigious award!

Essential

At least 3 years experience in nursery management
Level 3 Childcare Qualification as a minimum

Previous experience as a nursery manager is essential

Ability to prioritise effectively
Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
Be willing to attend training courses (For Example: DSL, Food Hygiene, First Aid, Safeguarding, etc)

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the nursery setting. This role requires working in collaboration with others and taking responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements and following setting policies and procedures.

Providing leadership and management of the nursery, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to. 
Being responsible for the smooth running of the nursery, always ensuring high quality care and education.  
Providing leadership to the team and providing guidance and support to all staff.  
Working closely with parents and families, to continue building strong relationships.  
Working with colleagues and other professionals to make sure that children’s needs are met.
Recruiting and inducting suitably qualified and experienced staff. 
Ensuring the nursery remains Ofsted compliant.
To have a good knowledge of the EYFS.
Attend training and meetings as when required.
Any other appropriate duties as and when required.

The post holder may be required to perform other duties than those listed in the role profile for this post. Duties and responsibilities of the post may vary from time to time without changing the general duties or level of responsibility.

Successful applicants must be able to provide documentary evidence of any childcare qualification(s) and your right to live and work in the UK. Employment with The Wendy House Day Nursery is also dependant on two satisfactory references and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

We offer a 20% employee discount on childcare within the nursery settings.
