Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join The L&C Refurb team working within the social housing sector on behalf of Equans and Birmingham City Council. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:

Valid CSCS card
Valid Manual Handling Certificate
Valid Working at Height Certificate
Valid Asbestos Certificate

Duties

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary before plastering.
Mixing plaster and other materials to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers.
Applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with trowels, hawks, or spray equipment.
Ensuring smooth, even finishes by skillfully using hand tools such as trowels and floats.
Repairing damaged surfaces by removing old plaster and reapplying new layers.
Assisting with bricklaying, masonry, carpentry, roofing, or welding tasks as required on-site.
Operating power tools safely and efficiently during the plastering process.
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to meet health and safety standards.
Collaborating with other tradespeople to complete projects within deadlines.

Skills

Proven experience in plastering with a solid understanding of different techniques and materials.
Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, floats, hawks, and spatulas.
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
Familiarity with mixing and applying plaster products accurately.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for achieving high-quality finishes.
Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if necessary.
Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently when required.

Pay: £190.00-£250.00 per day
