Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored learning programmes to children with diverse needs, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes academic, social, and behavioural development. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young learners' lives through specialised teaching methods and personalised support. The ideal applicant will have experience working with children, particularly within early childhood education and special education settings, and possess excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement customised lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of children with SEN, including those requiring speech therapy, applied behaviour analysis, or physical education support.
Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects such as Maths, literacy, and early childhood education, ensuring accessibility for all learners.
Utilise behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and create a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support children's developmental goals.
Monitor and assess student progress regularly, maintaining accurate records of achievements and areas for improvement.
Provide tutoring and additional support as needed to help children reach their full potential.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education practices, including mentoring and toddler or preschool care techniques.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and behavioural strategies.
Proofread educational materials to ensure clarity and appropriateness for young learners.

Experience

Proven experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings is essential.
Prior teaching experience within special education environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, applied behaviour analysis (ABA), and behaviour management strategies is beneficial.
Experience teaching physical education or tutoring children with special needs will be considered an advantage.
Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to mentor colleagues or students are important qualities for this role.
Familiarity with childcare practices, toddler care, and inclusive teaching methodologies will support success in this position.
